Success story of the child "Omar Alsalama"…
The pillar of the true peace in this world is our children because they are the pillar of future and life.
And one of treatment's trips that its title was success, the trip of 15 -month-old "Omar Alsalama" child.
Omar had Down syndrome, which is a gene problem that occurs in an early stage of birth, which requires special health care for these cases, which Omar lacked due to the death of the head of the family and the poor social situation that the mother lives in, in a rented house.
Omar took refuge in the "Vitamin 4" Center in Deir Ezzor, which was implemented by the St.Ephram Patriarchal Development Committee, in cooperation with (UNICEF), to receive primary health care as a result of the discovery of his severe malnutrition (SAM), due to his dependence on Industrialism breastfeeding in his food, where his weight was (6.5 kg), length (71 cm), and the MUAC (11,9).
The child was included in the program for the treatment of malnutrition (SAM), and he was tested for the appetite and it was good, as was given a Maxillin syrup, and therapeutic peanut butter (NUT), in addition to the mother receiving an individual counseling session on how to give medicines.
A weekly visit schedule had been set up for Omar, and today, on his eleventh visit, he has moved from a severe acute malnutrition situation (SAM) to a situation of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM), weight (7,4 kg), length (73 cm), and MUAC (12,8).)
We continue to follow Omar’s condition until he is recovering, hoping for the health and well-being of all our children.
